Celebrating Community, Compassion and Connection: Announcing the 2025 Paul Penna Community Service Award Recipient and Finalists

May 21, 2026

At Agnico Eagle, our Mission and Values come to life through our people in the way we work, care and give back. Across our operations and offices, employees strengthen the communities around them, making our Company not only a great place to work, but a force for good.

Each year, the Paul Penna Community Service Award recognizes an employee whose actions reflect our founder’s “Culture of the Heart.” We are proud to share that Hunter Davis, Asset Protection Control Room Guard at Detour Lake, is the 2025 recipient.

A Commitment to Community That Makes a Difference

Hunter’s impact is rooted in action and care for others. As an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Cobourg Police Service, he has contributed nearly 1,000 volunteer hours supporting community safety and well-being.

From organizing large food drives to supporting families during the holidays, his efforts have reached thousands. Through his leadership in Cram-a-Cruiser events, he has helped raise more than 75,000 pounds of food and over $87,000 for the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank, providing critical support to families facing food insecurity.

Beyond this work, Hunter supports toy drives, outreach events and crime prevention initiatives. Whether assisting vulnerable individuals, conducting safety audits or connecting with families, his work reflects a strong sense of responsibility and compassion.

“Hunter’s service reflects the enduring spirit of our founder, Paul Penna. We wouldn’t be here without the strong foundation he created. That foundation is built not only on delivering value for shareholders, but also on a shared commitment to giving back and contributing meaningfully to the communities,” said Sean Boyd, Chair of the Board of Agnico Eagle.

His contributions show how one person’s dedication can strengthen an entire community by creating safer environments and bringing people together.

In recognition, Agnico Eagle will donate $10,000 CAD to support food security initiatives at the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank.
