Supporting Communities Through Health & Safety Initiatives

December 19, 2024

Agnico Eagle is committed to fostering the safety and well-being of the communities where we operate through emergency support, enhanced local response capabilities and strong local partnerships. In Nunavut, we supported five search and rescue missions in 2024 near Baker Lake, Rankin Inlet, Whale Cove, and Hope Bay, contributing to both land and air searches. These efforts provide support in this remote region, reinforcing our dedication to community safety.

In Australia, the Fosterville Community Grant funded upgrades to the Heathcote Unit Victoria State Emergency Service’s emergency response vehicle, improving access to essential rescue equipment and enabling faster, more effective responses during emergencies.

In Finland, our Kittilä fire brigade collaborated with the Lapland Rescue Department in a joint emergency exercise, strengthening coordination and preparedness. We also support the Ounasjokilaakso Rescue Dogs Association, helping them maintain top-tier readiness for search and rescue operations across Lapland.

Through these initiatives, Agnico Eagle demonstrates our commitment to the health, safety and well-being of the communities, working hand-in-hand with local organizations, providing resources and continuing to fulfill our role as a responsible and caring corporate partner.
