Collaboration is at the heart of how we work at Agnico Eagle; shaping our culture, strengthening our teams and helping us deliver on our commitments to each other and to the communities we operate in. Each year, the Larry Connell Award for Collaborative Excellence recognizes an employee who exemplifies these principles through their actions, relationships and positive influence across our organization.
We are proud to announce that Valérie Voyer, Senior Manager, Organizational Development – Québec, is the 2024 recipient of this prestigious honour.
A Leader Who Inspires Through Care, Collaboration and Commitment
For nearly a decade, Valérie has been a pillar of the Goldex Mining Complex, known for her compassion, professionalism and ability to bring people together. She consistently fosters a workplace grounded in respect, connection and genuine care.
Valérie is recognized for:
- Collaborating seamlessly with colleagues across all levels and departments
- Bringing steady, positive energy to daily interactions, greeting employees each morning at the supervisor’s wicket
- Leading committees dedicated to psychological health and human connection
- Mentoring with empathy, offering guidance and support to colleagues facing professional or personal challenges
Her impact extends well beyond her daily responsibilities. Valérie played a central role in organizing the 10th annual Goldex Supervisors’ Day, helping strengthen leadership engagement and cross-team connection.
Her colleague Sonia Picard, Superintendent, Human Resources and Community Relations shares: “Valérie doesn't just fulfill her role in an exemplary manner; she inspires, unites and uplifts those around her. Her team spirit, her ability to listen and her talent for building bridges make her a sought-after colleague, a reliable ally and a natural leader.”
When presenting Valérie with the award on November 14 at Goldex, Jason Allaire, Vice President, Health, Safety, Social Affairs and People added: “Valérie’s influence goes far beyond her role. She creates a sense of community wherever she goes, and her commitment to supporting others strengthens our entire organization.”
In recognition of her achievement, Agnico Eagle will donate $5,000 CAD on Valérie’s behalf to the registered charity of her choice. Valérie has chosen to distribute this gift among five suicide prevention centres in Quebec’s Abitibi region, extending support to multiple communities where it can make a meaningful difference.
